It all began with our commitment to being a good neighbour. When our neighbours in need asked for help with their yard care, our seed of passion was planted. In response to continued requests for our 40+ years of expert garden experience YOUR GARDEN VALET was born and continues to flourish. Community service is important to Lynn and Ian and they were part of a team of gardeners who created and developed Allotment Gardens in Ladner.Lynn:
With 44 years of horticulture experience in Vancouver, Lynn learned the joys of gardening from her mother and greenhouse gardening tips from a neighbour. Now, with her own greenhouse, she grows an abundance of seedlings to share in the spring. Monroe and Hailey, Lynn and Ian's rescue dogs like to help in the garden too!Lynn holds a certificate in Horticulture (landscape maintenance) and had a four year apprenticeship with the Cities of Richmond and Vancouver (Stanley Park), garden centres and local offices.
Ian:
Ian's introduction to gardening started at an early age from his British and Scottish parents where he quickly learned that whistling while picking raspberries in the back yard was a requirement! His first Boy Scout badge was gardening and over the years Ian's passion for gardening continued to flourish. Ian, also is an avid cook, he can whip up amazing meals from scratch using fresh herbs and vegetables from our garden. I am the luckiest woman on earth!In the 1990's Ian and Lynn owned and operated Thistle Gardeners and they both continue to pursue their passion for gardening with YOUR GARDEN VALET.
